Mr. S.S.Joshi, learned counsel for the petitioners has brought to the notice of the court, the letter issued by the Director Administration, Public Instructions (S), Punjab, Chandigarh, copy of which is Annexure R.2, which reads as under:-
– “Sub: Civil Writ Petition No.4402/94 Sh.Rameshwar Singh and other.
With reference to the above noted subject it is stated that the increment of the proficiency step up has been given to the petitioners from the date demanded by

them in the above sanctioned writ petition and the payment of arrears due to them have been made accordingly. This is for your information, so that further action may be taken.”
In view of this letter the writ petition has been rendered
infructuous.
