The petitioner is accused in the FIR registered against the family on account of death of Charanjit Kaur, who was married to Sukhwinder Singh. The petitioner is Jethani of the deceased and on the other side, she is her first cousin, i.e., daughter of her paternal uncle, as the cousins were married to two brothers. Charanjit Kaur died of hanging. In the FIR, the allegations are that the petitioner along with other family members, namely, father-in-law and two brothers-in-law were harassing the deceased for bringing dowry.
