Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner-Society at some length and on perusal of the photographs on record, it would indicate that the installation work of the Power Sub Station is hear completion and also keeping in view the fact that such like Sub Stations are installed to provide one of the most frequently needed basic amenities, namely, electricity to the public at large in public interest, I am of the considered view that it may not be possible for a writ Court to issue directions to dismantle the Sub Station and install it somewhere else. At the same time, it appears imperative upon the respondents to take all these remedial measures to ensure that the Power Sub-Station or High Tension Cables do not become a health hazard for the residents of the locality. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of, however, without expressing any views on the merits of the allegations but with a direction to respondent Nos.2 & 3 to take the necessary remedial steps in consultation with respondent No.5 and in association with respondent Nos.4 and 6 so that the grievance of the petitioner-Society is effectively redressed. The necessary action shall be taken at the earliest possible.
