The controversy pertains to the non-payment of GPF amount to the petitioner. It appears that GPF amount was not released to the petitioner for want of certain formalities including submission of documents by him. It was in the aforesaid background that this Court on 10.8.2011 passed the following order:-

“The precise grievance of the petitioner is that the GPF has been withheld by the respondents, despite the recovery suit filed against the petitioner, has been dismissed and attained finality. The stand taken in the written statement is that he has not completed the papers for grant of GPF.
In the reply filed by the District Controller, Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Sangrur, it has been stated that he has never applied for GPF alongwith requisite documents. The matter has been pending for payment of GPF since the petitioner has filed this writ petition way back in the year 2009.
A direction is being given to the petitioner as well as respondent No.3 to complete the paper formalities before the next date of hearing.”
It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has now completed paper formalities. That being so, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to release the amount of GPF to the petitioner alongwith interest as admissible on the GPF, within a period of two months.
Writ petition stands disposed of.
