Ramesh Kumar has sent a telegram stating therein that his sister-in-law Mahi has been unlawfully detained by the police of PAU Ludhiana.
In the above-said petition, notice of motion was issued and in response thereto counsel for the State has filed the affidavit of Raj Kumar, PPS, ACP (West), Ludhiana. It is stated therein that Malwi @ Mala @ Mahi was arrested on 31.12.2010 in a case FIR No.75 dated 4.8.2010 registered at Police Station PAU Ludhiana under Sections 379-120-B IPC and she was produced before the Illaqa Magistrate on 1.1.2011. She was remanded to police custody for one day and thereafter she was remanded to judicial custody.

From a perusal of the reply, it is evident that detenue has not been unlawfully detained. Hence, no further directions are called for and the present petition is disposed of.
