A communication, sent by Manjit Singh, was received by the Registry of this Court, through post. The same has been treated as a Criminal Writ Petition, wherein it is stated that Hans Raj, father of the petitioner-Manjit Singh, was unlawfully detained by Devinder Attri, Station House Officer of Police Station Sahnewal, District Ludhiana.
In response to the communication, Balraj Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sahnewal, District Ludhiana, has filed an affidavit, wherein it is stated that neither Hans Raj, father of the petitioner, was taken into custody by the police nor is required in any case.
A communication, on the basis whereof, the writ petition was registered was received on 27.10.2010. Nobody is present to pursue the

complaint. In these circumstances, no further directions are called for in the present writ petition and the same is dismissed. However, a copy of this order be sent to the petitioner, so that he may take recourse to the lawful remedy, if any grievance subsists.
