The present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been filed on behalf of petitioners, namely, Prabhjot Kaur and Bikramjit Singh for issuing directions to respondents No. 2 to 4 to ensure the security of their lives and liberty as they are apprehending threat at the instance of respondents No. 5 to 7.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners have solemnized their marriage contrary to the wishes of respondents No. 5 to 7 and the petitioners are being threatened by them as they are not happy with the said marriage. Learned counsel further contends that both the petitioners are major for the purpose of marriage and the documents with regard to date of birth of petitioner No.1 are in the custody of her parents and petitioner No.2 was born on 1.4.1987, as is clear from the certificate of middle standard examination, which is annexed as Annexure P-2 with the petition.

Without commenting anything on the age of petitioner No.1 as well as validity of the marriage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to look into the representation filed by the petitioners. If respondent No.3 after going through the representation and verifying the age of petitioner No.1 comes to the conclusion that serious threat is there at the instance of respondents No. 5 to 7, necessary action with regard to providing security to the petitioners be taken in accordance with law.

Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
