The present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been filed by the petitioners for issuing directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect lives and liberty of the petitioners and to provide adequate security as they have solemnized their marriage contrary to the wishes of family members of petitioner No.1.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners being major have solemnized their marriage against the wishes of their parents. As the petitioners belong to the same locality, they are being threatened to face dire consequences. Learned counsel further contends that in this regard written representation was also sent to SSP, Gurdaspur through registered post on 5.1.2001. Learned counsel has also

brought to the notice of this Court that FIR No. 2 dated 6.1.2011 under Sections 366,363,34 IPC has been registered at Police Station Kalanaur, District Gurdaspur against petitioner No.2 and his family members.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur to decide the representation (Annexure P-5) filed by the petitioners in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order.

Meanwhile, arrest of petitioner No.2 is stayed.
