The present petition under section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, has been filed on behalf of the petitioners for issuance of directions to the official respondents to provide adequate security to protect lives and liberty of the petitioners who apprehend threats to their lives at the hands of private respondents and for further direction not to harass and interfere in their peaceful married life and not to intrude into their privacy.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that husband of petitioner No.1 died 10 years back and wife of petitioner No.2 also died one

year ago and both the petitioners have solemnized their marriage. The family members of both the petitioners are not in favour of said marriage. Learned counsel for the petitioners further contends that both the petitioners are not having any issue and they have solemnized their marriage as per their free will but still they are apprehending danger at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5 and are being threatened to face dire consequences.

Learned counsel further submits that a representation has already been made to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ropar by the petitioners but no action has been taken thereon.

Without commenting anything on the validity of marriage the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ropar to look into the representation made by them. If the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ropar comes to the conclusion that there is a serious threat to the petitioners then necessary action be taken with regard to the protection of the lives and liberty of the petitioners.
