It has been pointed out that the petitioners have been charged to stand trial for commission of offences under Sections 342/34, Indian Penal Code. For commission of the said offences, only one year's sentence can be awarded.
It has been further pointed out that the petitioners are facing agony of proceedings since June, 2005. Trial has not been concluded till date, even though the charges were framed on 15.1.2007.
This petition is disposed of with a direction to the trial court to dispose of the trial expeditiously, preferably within six months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
Copy of the order be given to Shri Sandhir under the signatures of the Bench Secretary.
