This petition has been filed under Section 482, Code of Criminal Procedure, praying for quashing of FIR No.35 dated 19.5.2011 under Sections 324, 323, 149, Indian Penal Code (Section 326, Indian Penal Code, added later on) and Section 3(I)/ 3(x) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Police Station, Fatehgarh Churian, Police District Batala (Annexure P-1).
Learned counsel for the respondent-State, on instructions from SI Baldev Singh, states that the investigation was completed. No incriminating material could be found against the petitioners, so as to nominate them as accused. Cancellation report has been prepared and approved by the Senior Superintendent of Police. In view of the stand of the learned counsel for the respondent-State, learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petition be disposed of as not pressed.
