By this petition, under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, the petitioner seeks quashing of First Information Report (for short 'FIR) No.203 dated June 19th , 2010 (Annexure P-1), registered under Sections 406, 498-A and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (for short 'IPC'), in Police Station Sector 34, Chandigarh.
Grounds pleaded are that the parties have compromised the matter with the intervention of respectables. All matrimonial disputes have been amicably settled. They have also tendered compromise deed (Anneuxure R-1). Complainantrespondent No.1 does not want to continue with the proceedings. Having regard to the fact that all matrimonial differences have been resolved, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served by allowing the criminal proceedings to continue against the petitioners.
In view of the above, the petition is accepted, FIR No.203 dated June 19th , 2010 (Annexure P-1), registered under Sections 406, 498-A and 506 IPC, in Police Station Sector 34, Chandigarh and subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, are hereby quashed.
