Petitioner has filed the present contempt petition under Sections 11 & 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act against the respondents for not complying with the order dated 29.5.2009 (P.1) passed by this Court in CWP No.17448 of 2006 despite the fact that a period of more than one year and three months has already elapsed.
Petitioner, who is working as a Lecturer, had filed a writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution directing the respondent No.1 i.e the Managing Committee, Dev Samaj College for Women Sector 45, Chandigarh to make payment of arrears of salary w.e.f 6.11.1996 to 22.5.2000, which was allowed by this Court vide order dated 29.5.2009 holding that the petitioner is entitled to the same grade of pay as per UGC/DPI norms as are permissible to a full time lecturers appointed on regular basis against an aided post.

benefits claimed by the petitioner were not granted by the respondents and hence the present contempt petition has been filed.
Notice to show cause as to why contempt proceedings be not initiated was issued to the respondents.
It is pointed out that an SLP ( C ) No.19489/2010 filed against the order dated 29.5.2009 has also been dismissed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court vide order dated 5.1.2011.
At the time of hearing, learned counsel for the respondents has produced a copy of order dated 20.1.2011 passed by respondent No.2Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration vide which the petitioner has been allowed the same grade of pay as per UGC/DPI norms that is to say that those scales/grades that are permissible to a full time Lecturer appointed on regular basis against an aided post and therefore submitted that the present petition has become infructuous.
Disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
