Counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are working on the posts of JBT Teacher in the Government School mentioned against their names in the title of the writ petition.

The petitioners have acquired the qualifications of Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) and Giani with Gurmukhi scripts (Honours in Punjabi) languages from the recognized Institutes/Universities. It is stated that on the basis of higher/additional qualifications they are entitled to be considered for promotion. Under the Rule, 25% posts in promotional quota are reserved for language teachers. On that basis, the petitioners are claiming their promotion.

In the reply filed by the respondents, it is specifically

stated that only six vacancies in promotional quota are available. The petitioners are much below in the seniority list. It is further stated that the petitioners will be considered for promotion when their turn comes.

I have heard the learned counsel for both the parties. The averments made in the reply have not been rebutted in any manner. The respondents have categorically stated that the petitioners will be considered for promotion when their turn comes on the basis of their seniority.

In view of the above statements, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the names of the petitioners for their promotion when their turn comes on the basis for their seniority.
