Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
The petitioners have prayed for fixation of their seniority
over and above respondent Nos. 4 and 5 as also for their deputation to the Intermediate School Course.
This petition was filed in the year 1994. The petitioners as also the private respondents have retired from service. There is no prayer for consequential promotions. On the retirement of the contesting parties, the question of inter-se seniority has been rendered infructuous.
Similarly the relief for deputation to the course cannot be granted on account of the retirement of the petitioners. In the affidavit dated 28.07.1999 fled by one of the petitioners, it is mentioned that the

petitioners were promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspectors in the year 1999.
In view of the above circumstances, no relief can be granted to the petitioners. The petition is accordingly dismissed with no
order as to costs.
