Respondent-State Government has filed an affidavit sworn by Smt. Anita Bhalla, Under Secretary to Government, Punjab, Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Department, inter-alia, stating that the Government have taken the policy decisions enumerated in the affidavit and issued requisite directions to the officers concerned with the implementation of the said policy.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioners are satisfied with the steps taken by the government especially those set out in paras No. 7 and 8 of the affidavit and that this petition could be disposed of as no further directions in the matter are required.
In the circumstances, therefore, we take the affidavit filed by the State Government on record and dispose off the writ petition as infructuous in the light of the subsequent developments mentioned above. Parties are left to bear their own costs. All interim orders issued by this Court shall stand vacated.
