This revision petition is directed by the landlord against the order dated 22.4.2009 passed by the Rent Controller, Ludhiana, whereby the rent of the demised premises has been provisionally assessed @ Rs.500/- per month w.e.f. 10.10.2007 to 9.11.2009, instead of @ Rs.3000/per month as claimed by the petitioner w.e.f. 1.7.2004.
Suffice it to say that there being a serious dispute with regard to the rate of rent and period for which it is due, the approach adopted by the Rent Controller warrants no interference by this Court at this stage. It would be open to the petitioner-landlord to prove the rate of rent as well as

the period for which it is due, by leading its evidence at the appropriate stage.
The Rent Controller shall make an endeavour to expedite and
dispose of the eviction petition at the earliest.
