Through the instant writ petition, the petitioner has impugned the order dated 06.06.2008 (Annexure P-3) passed by the Director Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, exercising the authority of the Commissioner under the provisions of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961.
In order to assail the impugned order, the petitioner had sought an adjournment so as to establish the continuance possession of the petitioner over the land in question with effect from a date preceding 26.01.1950.
Learned counsel for the petitioner states, that he has not been able to gather the aforesaid information, and as such, the petitioner may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition with liberty to file a fresh

writ petition on the same cause of action, after obtaining the necessary record.
Prayer is allowed. The instant writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as aforesaid. The petitioner is, however, directed to place the instant order on the record of the fresh writ petition if and when the same is filed.
