The petitioner who successfully passed the Secondary Special Examination, 2012 having obtained 68.20 marks in the said examination, however, in the certificates issued by the Bihar Board of Open Schooling & Examination, the name of the petitioner has been wrongly mentioned as Tatyaj Ali instead of Taiyaz Ali. After having obtained the marksheet and certificate, the petitioner has approached the authorities concerned for necessary correction in his name; however,

despite repeated representation, the same could not be done, hence the present writ petition.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner referring to the letter dated 29.06.2024 issued by the Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination under the signature of Senior Executive Officer, submitted that all the necessary documents including the attested marksheet and leaving certificate and the copy of the record were duly furnished to the concerned authorities on 08.07.2024, but, till date, the correction in the name of the petitioner could not be done.

Learned Advocate for the State submits that since the petitioner had already approached before the concerned authorities and submitted all the necessary documents, it is the authority of the Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination who shall look into the matter and take appropriate decision.

Having considered the nature of the grievance and taking note of the letter afore-noted, dated 29.06.2024, issued by Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination, as also the submissions of the petitioner that all the necessary documents have been submitted, this Court deems it fit and proper to dispose off the writ petition with a liberty to the petitioner to

approach before the Senior Executive Officer, Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination, preferably within a period of four weeks’ from today alongwith the copy of the order of this Court. On furnishing the order of this Court alongwith all the necessary documents, the concerned authorities shall look into the matter and take appropriate decision and if there is no impediment, make necessary correction in the

marksheet/original certificate as expeditiously as possible.
