Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.

Pawan Kumar Chaurasia, learned APP for the State.

The petitioner has prayed for regular bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 7, 7(A), 8 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner who is a police official was found consuming liquor and taking Rs.1,000/- from an unknown person in video footage. The video footage was shown to the dafadar and chowkidar who identified the petitioner and when the petitioner was asked he admitted his guilt.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that on some trivial issues there was dispute with SHO who has

warned the petitioner to teach a lesson. The petitioner is a police official who is going to superannuate in the month of October, 2025. He has no criminal antecedent and he is in custody since 28.09.2024.

Learned APP appearing for the state has opposed the prayer of regular bail.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and considering the facts and circumstances of the case as well as custody of the petitioner, this court is inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. The above named petitioner is directed to be released on bail in connection with Nakardei P.S. Case No. 12 of 2024 on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge Monitoring (Vigilance), North Bihar, Muzaffarpur.
