The petitioner is in judicial custody in connection with NCB Case No. 04 of 2024, NDPS Case No. 28 of 2024 for the offence punishable under Section NDPS Act, 1985 lodged on 05.03.2024 by the informant, Vikash Chandra Gupta.

As per the prosecution story, the informant alleged that upon information that this petitioner is carrying/transporting huge quantity of ‘Ganja’ by a truck, it was raided and from the truck, there is recovery/seizure of 243 kgs of Ganja. This led to the FIR.

Though, learned counsel for the petitioner tried to impress upon this Court about his innocence, learned counsel

for the Narcotic Control Bureau submits that the truck was intercepted after specific information and on disclosure that is kept in a secret box of the truck, the recovery/seizure has been made.

In that background, this Court is not inclined to extend him the privilege of bail which is accordingly rejected.

In view of the fact that the petitioner is in custody since 09.03.2024, it is expected from the Trial Court to take up the trial and conclude it expeditiously.
