Though the present writ petition has been filed for directing the respondent State to provide security cover to the petitioner at the expense of the State in view of the order dated 27.09.2016, passed by the learned Division Bench of this Court in C.W.J.C. no. 384 of 2016 but during the interregnum period, it has been informed by the learned State counsel that the case of the petitioner for grant of security at the expense of the State has been forwarded vide letter dated 07.04.2021, issued by the Deputy Inspector General to the Appellate Committee i.e. the Central Security Committee for consideration.

The learned Senior counsel for the petitioner submits

that the said Appellate Committee be directed to take appropriate decision within a stipulated time frame.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off with a direction the Central Security Committee/ Appellate Committee to take final decision with regard to providing security cover to the petitioner, within a period of 08 weeks of receipt/ production of a copy of this order.
