The petitioner is the husband of the informant and seeks anticipatory bail in a case registered for the offences punishable under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the prosecution story as narrated in the First Information Report is completely false and malicious. He has further submitted that the informant’s father was a Rickshaw puller and the allegation of demand of dowry to the tune of Rs. 2,00,000/- and payment of Rs. 1,80,000/- as dowry is absolutely imaginary and baseless. He has drawn my attention to Annexure-2 of this application in order to contend that the informant was earlier married to one Lal Babu
