The petitioner is elder brother of the deceased of the case which has been registered under Sections 302, 304B, 498A, 341, 323/34 of the IPC and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The informant’s daughter Sonam Kumari was married in the year 2009 with Shyambabu Rai – younger brother of the petitioner. It has been alleged that the victim’s husband was torturing her in connection with demands of additional dowry. After her death it was suspected that she has been killed by her husband and his three brothers.
