Despite adjournment granted, learned counsel for the respondents regret that they have received no instructions till date.

The claim in the writ application is for arrears of salary as University Professor with effect from 1.1.1996 pursuant to 5^th Pay Revision and payment of the differential amount. The representations by the petitioner having evoked no response he has filed the writ application.

Having considered the facts and circumstances, and

that the petitioner could not be said to be the sole claimant,

the Court considers it proper to grant a reasonable time of

four months to the University and the State Government to act together and ensure that the legitimate dues of the petitioner are paid to him failing which the petitioner is at liberty to claim interest from the State Government and the University.
