The petitioner is being prosecuted for an offence registered under Sections 5(2) read with Sections 5(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947 and under Sections 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Allegation is that the petitioner was found to be in possession of property worth Rs. 7,04,924/- which was disproportionate to his known source of income. The check period of the case is 01.03.1984 to 30.11.2008. On behalf of the petitioner, it has been submitted that the amount has not been correctly calculated. The petitioner is of agriculturist background and this fact has not been considered. The petitioner has got only one daughter who got education in Govt. School of Bihar and the wife of the

petitioner has got some onaments and cash

from her Maika and she invested the same in
her own name. The petitioner has been
remanded in this case on 04.07.2009 and
since then he is in custody.
