The CRLMP has been filed with the prayer to register the petitioner’s written complaint dated 18.12.2025 as FIR and to proceed with investigation in accordance with law with further prayer to direct the superior Police officers to supervise the investigation to ensure fairness and impartiality.

By order dated 02.02.2026, this Court found that on account of a trivial dispute, there was ill feeling between the villagers for which the family members of the petitioner were allegedly prevented from entering the Masjid and Madrasa and drawing water from the village tube-well. On the last occasion, learned counsel for the petitioner had submitted that if the police take any steps for settling the matter amicably, he and his family members will co-operate.

Mr. S. J. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel produces the instruction dated 15.02.2026 of the Inspector-in-charge,

Banpur Police Station, Khurda, where it is stated that a meeting was held, chaired by the IIC and attended by the petitioner, his family members, representatives of the mosque committee, village elders, community leaders, and police officials, where the parties gave the assurance that there will be no obstruction to religious or civic rights and both the parties were committed to maintaining harmony and resolving any future disputes lawfully through police intervention.

Mr. A. Pattanaik, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that with the intervention of police the matter has been amicably settled and no further direction is required from this Court.

In view of this, appreciating the role of the IIC, Banpur Police Station in resolving the dispute amicably, the CRLMP is disposed of without issuing any direction.
