The Petitioner in the writ petition prays for a direction

to the Opposite Party No.2, namely, Deputy Director, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Khordha to pay him arrear wages as a skilled labourer for the period from 2/1998 to 11/2016 in terms of the order dated 24^th May, 2007 (Annexure-1) passed by the learned Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Bhubaneswar in I.D. Misc. Case No. 23 of 1998.

On perusal of the record, it appears that in I.D. Misc. Case No. 23 of 1998, learned Labour Court, Bhubaneswar vide order dated 24^th May, 2007 has directed the Opposite Parties, the authorities under Nandankanan Zoological Park, Khordha to pay a sum of Rs.11,050/- to the Petitioner as a skilled worker for the period from 1^st May, 1992 to 30^th January, 1998. On that basis, the Petitioner has filed the writ petition stating that he is not in a position to move learned

Labour Court in view of the ratio in the case of State of Odisha Vs. Nandankanan Workers Union and others, reported in 2007 (Suppl-I) OLR 378 , wherein it is held that the Nandankanan Zoo is not an industry and the workers working therein are not workmen under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

This Court further finds that the matter was listed on 13^th February, 2025, on which date an adjournment was sought for on behalf of the Petitioner. Today none appears for the Petitioner to pursue the matter.
