Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as Mr. B.K.Das, learned counsel for the Opposite Party No.1 and learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

Only grievance of the petitioner in the present writ application is non-disposal of his Second Appeal No.3964 of 2024 pending before the Odisha Information Commission, Bhubaneswar. Learned counsel for the petitioner is also unable to provide the case number of the second appeal. He further contended the appeal is pending before the Odisha Information Commission. Mr. Das, learned counsel

appearing for the Odisha Information Commission on the other hand contended that appeal has been filed recently. He further contended that commission is over burdened with work due to regular nonavailability of the members of the commission. On such ground, Mr. Das, learned counsel for the Odisha Information Commission assured this Court that necessary steps shall be taken for an early disposal of the appeal.

Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, further taking in view the appearance of the learned counsel for the Odisha Information Commission, the present writ application is disposed of with a direction to the commission that in the event the second appeal is pending and that same is ready for hearing, necessary steps be taken for an early disposal of the appeal, provided there is no other legal impediment to the same.
