The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to quash the orders dated 20.01.2011 and 15.02.2012, by which he has been called upon to show cause as to why punishments as proposed shall not be mad absolute. Since this Court has not passed any interim order in this case, Mr. S.K. Pattnaik, learned Sr. Counsel appearing along with Mr. P.K. Pattnaik for the opposite party brings to the notice of the Court that during pendency of the writ petition, final order of punishment has been passed on 19.10.2013 and the petitioner has been awarded punishment of unauthorized period of leave to be treated as leave without pay and censured. It is further contended that in the meantime, the petitioner has already retired from service on 31.10.2013 and, as such, the petitioner has not challenged the final order of punishment imposed on him.
In such view of the matter, with efflux of time, the writ petition has become infructuous and the same is hereby dismissed.
The office order dated 19.10.2013 be kept on record.
