Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl. Government Advocate.

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner challenging the action of the opposite parties in not determining the compensation amount in pursuance of the judgment dated 12.05.1998 passed by learned Civil Judge (Senior Division), Deogarh in L.A Case No.30 of 1998.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed an application under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 before the Zone Officer, Land Acquisition, Rengali Dam Project, Deogarh–opposite party No.2 for determination of the compensation amount on the basis of the judgment dated 12.05.1998 passed by learned Civil Judge (Senior Division), Deogarh in L.A Case No.30 of 1998. He further submitted that though the said application was filed on 04.08.1998, no action has been taken till date.

Considering the above, without going into the merits of the case, this Court disposes of this Writ Petition with a direction to the Zone Officer, Land Acquisition, Rengali Dam Project, Deogarh–opposite party No.2 to dispose of the application filed by the

petitioner under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 vide Annexure-2 in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order along with a copy of this Writ Petition.

As the lock down period is continuing for COVID-19 learned counsel for the petitioner may utilize the soft copy of this order available in the High Court’s website or print thereof at par with the certified copy in the manner prescribed, vide Court’s notice No.4587, dated 25.03.2020
