Heard Mr. S. Das, learned counsel on behalf of Mr. Mahanty, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. Samal, learned Additional Government Advocate through video conferencing mode.

According to Mr. Das, the petitioners are poor and landless persons. Though vide Annexure-4, they have requested the Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam (opposite party no.2) on 17.02.2021 to provide them houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, however, till date nothing has been done on the same. In such background, he prays that a direction may be issued to the said opposite party to take a decision on the above noted representation within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam (opposite party no.2) to take a decision on the above noted representation of the petitioners under Annexure-4 in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioners. Till disposal of representation status quo as on date with regard to residential premises of the petitioners shall be maintained.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
