The petitioners in this writ petition seek for a direction to opposite party Nos. 2 and 3 i.e. Director (R&R), Department of Water Resources, Bhubaneswar and Collector & District Magistrate, Nuapada, to sanction and disburse the R & R package in favour of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the land of the petitioners has been acquired for construction of Lower Indra Irrigation Project Khariar and accordingly compensation has been assessed. Thereafter the Collector, Nuapada revised the estimate towards payment of Rehabilitation Assistance in favour of the petitioners and submitted the same before the Director (R&R),-cum-Addl. Secretary to Government, Department of Water Resources in his letter dated 7.07.2020. However since then, the said amount has not been sanctioned for release in favour of the petitioners.
This being the limited grievance of the petitioners, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to opposite party No.2 to take a decision on the proposal submitted by the opposite party no.3 under Annexure-2 within a period of eight weeks, if there is no other impediment and communicate the decision to opposite party no.3 forthwith for taking consequential steps.
