The petitioner in this writ petition seeks for a direction to opposite party Nos. 2 and 3 i.e. Director (R&R), Department of Water Resources, Bhubaneswar and Collector & District Magistrate, Nuapada, to sanction and disburse the estimated amount towards rehabilitation assistance to the displaced families as per the P.D. (R&R) Letter No. 1290 dated 24.09.2018 issued by the Collector & District Magistrate Nuapada, as per list of displaced families under Annexure-3, in favour of the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the land of the petitioner has been acquired for construction of Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar and accordingly compensation has been assessed. Thereafter the Collector, Nuapada submitted the proposal before the Director (R&R),cum-Addl. Secretary to Government, Department of Water Resources in his letter under Annexures-2 and 3. However since then, the said amount has not been sanctioned for release in favour of the petitioner.
This being the limited grievance of the petitioner, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to opposite party Nos. 1 and 2 to take a decision on the proposal submitted by the opposite party no.3 under Annexures-2 and 3 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of the order and communicate the decision to opposite party no.3 forthwith for taking consequential steps.
