Mr. A.K. Bose, learned Assistant Solicitor General produces before us a status report of the i
nvestigation into the matter.
Heard learned counsel for both the parties.
This writ application in the nature of habeas corpus has been filed by
the petitioner-Suresh Chandra Panda on the allegation that his daughter, namely, Kumari Jayas
hree Panda had gone missing and the petitioner learnt that she had gone away with one Jubraj S
ingh @ Raju, S/o Balbir Singh, resident of village Tusa, in the district of Ludhiana in the St
ate of Punjab, who had been working in a garage, namely, Jashipur Bombay Roadways at Padamapur
area owned by one Maanjeet Singh, proprietor of the garage.
On perusal of the action taken report submitted by the Deputy Superint
endent of Police, CBI, SCB, Kolkata dated 21.02.2017, we find that the missing person, namely,
Kumari Jayashree Panda has been restored to the custody of her parents. Consequently, nothing
further remains to be considered in the present writ application in the nature of habeas corp
us.
Accordingly, this writ application is disposed of.
The action taken report be kept in a sealed cover and tagged to the re
cords of this case.
