19.08.2016 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.
The petitioner has filed this writ application praying for a direction to the
opposite party no.1- Authorized Officer-Cum-Divisional Forest Officer, Keonjhar Wildlife Divis
ion, Anandpur to dispose of the Confiscation Proceeding bearing OR Case No.38A of 2014-15 with
in a stipulated period.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the vehicle of the petitioner
has been seized in connection with forest offence since 14.07.2014 and therefore, appropriate
direction may be given to the opposite party No.1 to dispose of the confiscation proceeding at
an earliest.
Learned counsel for the State has no objection to such prayer.
Considering the submissions made by the respective parties and the fact that t
he vehicle was seized since 14.07.2014, I direct that the opposite party no.1 to expedite the
Confiscation Proceeding and conclude the same within a period of two months from the date of r
eceipt of the order of this Court.
The opposite party no.1 shall act upon the production of the certified copy of
this order by the petitioner.
A copy of the order be handed over to the learned State counsel for compliance
Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
