“Subject: Complaint regarding illegal sand extraction and transportation from Village Mahesmunda, Patharghata, Kasta, Aamlachatar, and Bankhet, all under District Jamtara, Jharkhand Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing environmental concern regarding rampant illegal sand extraction and transportation activities in Village Mahesmunda, Patharghata, Kasta, Aamlachatar, and Bankhet, all falling under the jurisdiction of District Jamtara, Jharkhand. These activities are not only causing irreparable harm to the environment but also violating the existing laws and regulations. The sand extraction is being carried out without obtaining the necessary environmental clearances and permissions from the competent authorities. Moreover, the transportation of sand is also being done in an unauthorized manner, leading to increased vehicular pollution and disturbance to the local residents. The local administration seems to be turning a blind eye to these activities, which are detrimental to the ecological balance of the region.
I request you to take immediate cognizance of this matter and direct the concerned authorities to take necessary actions to stop these illegal activities. It is imperative to ensure that the sand extraction and transportation are carried out in a sustainable and regulated manner, adhering to the environmental norms and guidelines.
I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter urgently and take necessary actions to protect the environment and prevent further damage.”
10.03.2026 and the applicant has not appeared before this Tribunal even today and the applicant has not produced any material in support of the averments made in the Original Application despite information having been given to him for this purpose through e-mail.
“Where on the date fixed for hearing of the application or appeal, as the case may be, or on any other date to which such hearing may be adjourned the applicant or appellant, as the case may be, does not appear when the application or appeal, as the case may be, is called for hearing, the Tribunal may in its discretion, either dismiss such application or appeal for default or hear and decide it on merit.”
