This MA has been registered on the basis of the report dated 13.08.2024 submitted by Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana in compliance of the order of the Tribunal dated 14.05.2024 passed in OA No.292/2023. In the OA, grievance of the applicant was against unlawful commercial activities in Rakh Bagh which is a public park.

Tribunal had disposed of the OA by order dated 14.05.2024 by directing as under:-

“22. In the facts and circumstances of the case noted above, we find that it is the responsibility of the respondent nos. 1 and 3 to ensure that the green cover in Rakh Bagh is maintained and no unauthorized construction, whether temporary/permanent in nature, is allowed to be erected and no illegal commercial activity

is permitted in the park. Hence, we direct the respondent no. 1 to take appropriate remedial action, if any, unauthorized structure of temporary/permanent nature is still standing on the Rakh Bagh Park and, if any, illegal commercial activity is going on and submit action taken report before the Registrar General of the Tribunal within three months. If found necessary, the matter be listed before the bench.”.

Report filed by Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana dated 13.08.2024 reveals that requisite action in compliance of the order of the Tribunal has already been taken. Therefore, no further action in this MA is required. MA is disposed of accordingly.
