The grievances in this letter Petition sent by Mr. Ajay Tiwari resident of B-Sarita Dham Akhye Road (Bhodal-Bichpuri Road), Thana Shahganj, P.S – Patholi, Agra, which is treated and registered as original application, are that more than one dozen residential colonies approved by Agra Development Authority exist on Bodla-Bichpuri Road which joins Agra Jaipur Highway in front of Om Shoe Export Factory. More than 50 Selam Marble factories are being run on the above said road. Chakla, Belan and other fancy item are being made from Selam Marble. Cutting, grinding and processing of Selam Marble is causing environmental pollution posing serious health hazards to residents of the locality and spreading diseases among children leading to exodus from the area.

In view of the serious averments made in the application, we are of the view that the factual position needs to be verified and remedial action is required to be taken on the basis thereof by the concerned Statutory

Authorities. We accordingly constitute Joint Committee of CPCB, State PCB, and District Magistrate, Agra and direct the same to verify the factual position, look into the grievances of the applicant and take remedial action in accordance with law by following due process within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The State PCB will be the Nodal agency for coordination and compliance.

Factual and action taken report may be furnished within two months by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF, before the Ld. Registrar General, National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi who may, if necessary, put up the matter before the Bench for further directions.

The application is disposed of accordingly.

A copy of this order along with a copy of the application be forwarded to the CPCB, State PCB, and District Magistrate, Agra by e- mail for compliance.
