This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 herein to disburse the petitioner's share in the compensation for the land acquired for the Highway extension of National Highway No.49, which is comprised in S.No.111/1A, situated at Atchunthanvayal Village, Ramanathapuram Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, on the basis of the partition deed Document No.741/2012, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2026, in accordance with law, within the time to be stipulated by this Court.

3 . Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the fourth respondent, notice to the fourth respondent is hereby dispensed with.

4 . The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the subject property in S.No.111/1A, measuring an extent of 53 cents, is ancestral in nature. After the death of the petitioner's father, the said property devolved upon the petitioner's mother. Subsequently, the said property was acquired by the respondents 1 to 3 for the extension of the National Highway. While so, the fourth respondent, who is the brother of the petitioner, is attempting to grab the compensation amount through the petitioner's mother.

5 . The grievance of the petitioner is that, by virtue of a partition deed bearing Document No.741 of 2012 dated 04.09.2012, the petitioner is also entitled to a share in the compensation amount. Hence, the petitioner made a complaint to the third respondent and also submitted a representation dated 27.01.2026 to the respondents 1 to 3 seeking disbursement of his share in the compensation amount. However, the respondents 1 to 3 have not taken any action till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

6 . The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, submitted that all the revenue records stand in the name of the petitioner's mother. It is further submitted that the petitioner's mother appeared before the third respondent on 09.12.2025 and stated that her husband died on 03.10.2024 and that the petitioner and the fourth respondent had abandoned her; therefore, the compensation amount should be paid to her. Accordingly, a recommendation has been made to pay the compensation amount to the petitioner's mother.

7 . Recording the aforesaid submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No

costs. It is open to the petitioner, if he claims entitlement to a share in the compensation amount on the basis of the partition deed, to agitate the same before the competent Civil Court in the manner known to law.
