This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first to third respondents to take necessary steps

to survey and demarcate the petitioner’s property in present Survey No. 656/19, measuring an extent of 1.26 ares (1360 sq. ft.), situated at Sholavandan Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, on the basis of the petitioner’s application vide Application No. 2026/0123/24/000563 dated 22.01.2026 and representation dated 27.01.2026, with police protection from the fourth respondent, within a stipulated time and in accordance with law.

With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that an online application has been submitted for the survey of the property in question and for demarcation of its boundaries and a representation has also been made.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first to third respondents would submit that after consideration of the claims of the parties, proper steps would be taken to survey and demarcate the land in question in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923.

Recording the aforesaid submissions, this Court directs the first to third respondents to consider the online application of the petitioner dated 22.01.2026 and also his representation dated 27.01.2026, survey and demarcate the petitioner’s land after consideration of the claims of all parties including the private respondents and pass orders in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Survey and Boundaries

Act, 1923, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a

copy of this order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at

liberty to pursue their remedies before the Civil Court. It is needless to state that before surveying the land, notice shall be issued to the adjacent landowners, the private respondents and other interested parties, if any and that if required, the police assistance may be taken.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
