This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed challenging the order dated 18.02.2026 passed by the first respondent, thereby directed the petitioner to stay outside of the territorial limits of the Tiruppur Corporation limit.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

The petitioner is residing at D.No.11, Mariamman Koil Streeet,

Annuparapalayam, Tiruppur District, along with his family members. It is seen from the records that the petitioner has involved in several criminal cases and is facing trial in four criminal cases. Three previous cases were already registered against the petitioner, in which one case was ended in acquittal. Even then, the petitioner repeatedly involved himself in criminal activities and as such, the first respondent passed the impugned order under Section 51A of the Chennai City Police Act, 1888 and directing the petitioner to stay outside the territorial limits of the Tiruppur Corporation.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is having wife, two minor children and aged parents, all of whom are dependent upon him and that there is no other earning member to take care of

the family. Therefore, the impugned order has caused severe hardship to the

petitioner and his family members.

Per contra, the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offence and has

repeatedly involved himself in criminal activities. Merely because the petitioner has a wife, two minor children and aged parents, he cannot seek indulgence from this Court. The petitioner ought to have considered the consequences to his family before repeatedly indulging in criminal activities Therefore, the first respondent rightly passed the impugned order under Section 51A of the Chennai City Police Act, 1888.

In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in

the order dated 18.02.2026 passed by the first respondent under Section 51A of the Chennai City Police Act, 1888. Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
