The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a direction to respondents 3 and 4 to implement the reopening order in Na.Ka.No.342/2024/V1 dated 07.03.2026 passed by the second respondent and consequently reopen TASMAC Retail Shop No.4106 and resume its operations in the petitioner’s premises situated at Old Survey No.148 (Part), New Survey No.148/12, No.3, GST Road, Kilambakkam Village, Chengalpattu District.

The petitioner is the owner of the said premises, which had been leased to respondents 3 and 4 for running a TASMAC FL-1 retail liquor shop. During the subsistence of the lease, the shop could not be reopened due to objections raised by members of the public.

The petitioner submits that the second respondent has already issued a No Objection Certificate permitting the reopening of the shop. However, despite the issuance of the said order, respondents 3 and 4 have not resumed the operation of the shop.

Learned counsel appearing for respondents 3 and 4 submitted that a proposal regarding the reopening of the shop is presently pending before the Regional Manager, TASMAC. It was further submitted that an appropriate decision would be taken on the proposal, and if approved, the shop would be reopened.

Recording the above submission, this writ petition is disposed of with a

direction to respondents 3 and 4 to take a decision on the proposal relating to the reopening of TASMAC Retail Shop No.4106, in accordance with law, within a

period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
