The petitioner has challenged the proceedings of the first respondent dated 10.12.2024, whereby the powers of the petitioner, who was serving as the Vice-President of the Nallavanpalayam Panchayat, were withdrawn on the ground that proceedings had been initiated under Section 203 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994.

It is not in dispute that the petitioner was elected as the VicePresident of the said Panchayat and that his tenure as Vice-President has since expired.

In view of the expiry of the petitioner’s tenure, the relief sought in the writ petition has become infructuous, and nothing survives for further adjudication.
