PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to conduct special stray vacancy for post graduation admission for the academic year 2025- 2026 to fill up the 1140 vacant seats and also permit the petitioner to participate in the same and pass AMENDED AS Directing the respondents to conduct Special Stray Vacancy for Post-Graduation Admission for the academic year 20252026 to fill up the 1140 vacant seats and also permit the petitioner to participate in the same or in the alternative directing the respondents to create a SUPERNUMERARY VACANCY in the Post Graduate subject of M.D. (General Medicine) or M.D (Paediatrics) for the petitioner in any of the Government Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

vacant seats and permit the petitioner to participate in the same or in the alternative direct the respondents to create a SUPERNUMERARY VACANCY in the Post Graduate subject of M.D. (General Medicine) or M.D (Paediatrics) for the petitioner in any of the Government College in Tamil Nadu.

At the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that petitioner's representation dated 02.04.2026 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed on merits and in accordance with law after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a time period to be stipulated by this Court. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider petitioner’s representation dated 02.04.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after issuing notice and after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance
