ORDER

The Writ Petition was earlier disposed of by recording the petitioner’s undertaking to pay a sum of Rs.10,74,334/- towards arrears of rent to the fourth respondent in three equal instalments of Rs.3,58,112/- each. Pursuant to the said order, the petitioner has paid the first two instalments. However, the third instalment was not paid on or before the stipulated date, namely 31.12.2026.

2. The petitioner has filed the present application seeking extension of time to pay the third instalment, stating that he was unable to make the payment due to financial constraints. It is also submitted that he has closed his business and has vacated the shop premises.

This Court is satisfied that the petitioner has shown sufficient cause for seeking extension of time. Accordingly, W.M.P. No.30007 of 2026 is allowed. The petitioner is granted time till 31.12.2026 to deposit the balance amount of Rs.3,58,112/-, failing which the fourth respondent shall be at liberty to recover the said amount, along with applicable interest, in the manner known to law.
