This case came up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both the parties present. The counsel for the petitioner Mr.N.Jothivel and the respondent/in-person are present. This Criminal Revision Case is preferred against the judgment delivered by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Thanjavur, made in Cr.M.P.No.8483 of 2023 in C.A.No.289 of 2023, dated 20.12.2023 confirming the judgment passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate (Fast Track) Court, Thanjavur in S.T.C.No.45/2021, dated 06.11.2023.

The learned Judicial Magistrate (Fast Track) Court, Thanjavur, has convicted the revision petitioner and sentenced him to undergo One Year Simple Imprisonment for the offence under Section 138 of N.I.Act and directed to pay a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) within a period of one month under Section 357(3) of Cr.P.C, and in default to undergo two months Simple Imprisonment and the same was confirmed by the learned II Additional District Judge, Thanjavur. Aggrieved by the same, the present Criminal Revision Case has been filed before this Court.

Both parties are present today. Upon negotiation, the parties have agreed to amicably resolve the dispute. Accordingly, the defacto

complainant has agreed to compound the offence upon receipt of a sum of Rs.5,50,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs and Fifty Thousand Only) from the petitioner/accused on or before 05.10.2026, as full quit. The said amount shall be paid either in cash or by way of Demand Draft to the credit of the account of the petitioner in Account No.10848586018, IFSC Code: SBIN0000924 at Main Branch, SBI, Thanjavur.

Since the petitioner/accused has been convicted in this case, the matter shall be posted before the regular Court on 06.10.2026 for setting aside the conviction and sentence passed by the learned II Additional District Judge, Thanjavur.
