This petition is filed with a prayer to direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioner.

2.When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) would submit that a case is registered against the petitioner in Crime No.96 of 2026 dated 20.04.2026 for the alleged offence under Sections 406 and 420 of India Penal Code.

3.In reply thereof, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a woman aged 77 years, summons is issued to her without even mentioning the particulars and repeatedly she is harassed.

4.The petitioner is an accused, the respondent have every right to summon her for interrogation regarding the case. It is for the petitioner to exercise her right to supply any information or not as she is now stated to be an accused in Crime No.96 of 2026.

5.In view thereof, when the matter pertains to investigation, keeping open the rights of the petitioner to avail the other remedies available in law, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
