This Criminal Original Petition seeks to quash the final report and all

further proceedings in CC.No.24 of 2025, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate II, Chengalpattu, for alleged offences under Sections 126(2), 296(b), 115(2), 118(2) and 351 (3) of BNS, 2023, on the ground of compromise between the parties. The parties are present before the Court and, on examination, stand by their compromise and do not want the case to proceed further.

jurisdiction under Section 482 of the Cr.P.C. and Section 528 of the BNSS in respect of compromise of non-compoundable offences are laid down by the

The gist of facts leading to the instant case are that that a wordy quarrel arose between the students of the Law College while they were residing in the hostel, on account of which the alleged offences came to be committed and the case was registered. The parties are now in their final year of college and have resumed their friendship. They are pursuing their studies peacefully and harmoniously.

Thus, it can be seen that this matter is a fit case for the exercise of extraordinary jurisdiction to quash the case on compromise.

Accordingly, this Crl.O.P. No.17062 of 2026 stands allowed. The final

report and all further proceedings in CC.No.24 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate II, Chengalpattu stands quashed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
