This contempt petition has been filed to punish the respondent for committing contempt of the order dated 20.08.2024 made in Crl.O.P.No. 20026 of 2024.

2.The petitioner had earlier filed a direction petition seeking direction directing the Inspector of Police, Periyapalayam Police Station, to file a final report in Crime No.2028 of 2020 on 08.08.2024. This Court on 20.08.2024 in Crl.O.P.No.20026 of 2024, on the submissions of the learned Govt.Advocate (Crl.Side) disposed the petition directing the respondent police to file final report within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of copy of the order. Thereafter, no action taken, pre-contempt notice issued on 20.08.2025 which was received by the consent police on 22.08.2025. Hence, the present petition.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that during the investigation, 41 A notice issued to the accused persons A1 Murugan, A2 Ramraj A3 Raj and A4 Vikki calling them to appear for enquiry and all the accused appeared for enquiry, statements recorded. Now, investigation completed and charge sheet filed.

4.The learned Govt. Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent produced the affidavit of the respondent police and submitted that now, the investigation completed and final report filed. In this regard, paragraph 10 of the affidavit filed by the respondent police is extracted hereunder:

“10.I respectfully submit that , after completion of a detailed and elaborate investigation, a final report has been filed before the Learned Judicial Magistrate Court, Uthukottai through e-filing vide LTN20230001974C202600100 on 16.04.2026 and the same is yet to be taken on file”.

In view of the above, the contempt petition is closed.
